Luxury two bed Cottage, in the
grounds of a converted Benedictine Monastery, set
in 20 acres of private gardens on the shores of
Loch Ness. In the heart of the Highlands, this
sympathetic conversion is an ideal base for
exploring all that Scotland has to offer. Whether
you are searching for outdoor adventure, or simply
just want to unwind, this is the place to do it.
From white-water rafting to whisky trails and
ceilidh evenings, you'll quickly find that a week
is just not long enough!

Dalwhinnie Cottage has a
magnificent setting, with views overlooking the
river Tarff to the rear of the cottage and the
Abbey Church from its terrace. The bedrooms are
comfortable with high quality mattresses and
bedding to make your holiday truly restful. This
cottage offers two good sized bedrooms and two
bathrooms. Tastefully decorated with stylish
furnishings and high specification fittings
promise to make your stay memorable. The bright
and spacious open plan living area has large patio
doors leading out onto a terrace; there is also a
wood burning stove to provide a cosy atmosphere
during those Scottish evenings. A welcome pack
is provided. Our property manager will meet you on
arrival and show you to your
accommodation.
Facilities included are The
BOATHOUSE RESTAURANT providing an idyllic setting
on the shores of Loch Ness in which you can enjoy
delicious, locally sourced food. The HIGHLAND CLUB
SPA AND SWIMMING POOL will be available autumn
2010. Within the stunning grounds OUTDOOR PICNIC
TABLES AND BBQ'S are provided for guest use;
TENNIS COURT, outdoor TABLE TENNIS, CROQUET LAWN,
GIANT CHESS and CHILDRENS ADVENTURE PLAY AREA
promise to keep everyone amused. The Monks
refectory has been transformed into a CLUB LOUNGE
with its oak panelled walls and stained glass
windows, providing a sumptuous area to relax with
friends or enjoy a game of SNOOKER (WIFI access
available).

patio door overlooking the Abbey

Table Tennis, Tennis Court. This cottage has Sky
Freeview. The Club Lounge is available for
guests use with snooker table and quiet area for
relaxation (WIFI access avaialble). PLAY STATION
2 and WII GAMES CONSOLE PROVIDED.

Communal Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ,
Parking, Garden Furniture. The Highland Club
will offer spa facilties (autumn
2010).

Local Activities
The Highland Club is
situated within 2 minutes walk from the centre of
Fort Augustus. Amenities include a number of local
pubs/restaurants, local supermarket and a variety
of gift shops. There is a 9 hole golf course,
Tourist Information Centre and many local
attractions and beautiful walks without the need
to drive if you prefer.
The location
allows traffic free access to Aonach Mor ski area
during the winter months and year round access to
the Highlands and all the local outdoor/adventure
sports. The beautiful beaches of the West Coast of
Scotland can be found about an hour away with easy
access to Isle of Skye across the new bridge at
Kyle of Lochalsh. To the East there are several
beaches in the Dornoch/Black Isle area. Whisky
Distilleries are in all directions, while for the
children, the Hogwarts Express is a train that
runs along the valley where Harry Potter was
filmed. The nearby ruins of Urquhart Castle,
Cawdor Castle and the world famous Eilean Donan
Castle are all within an hour's drive. Not
forgetting the Loch Ness Visitor's Centre and the
monster itself....
Please note that
building and restoration work at the Abbey is
ongoing and this is reflected in the current
reduced tariffs. Please be aware that apartments
advertised are finished but due to the nature of
the project we cannot guarantee that you may not
be inconvenienced at some point in your
stay.
