Luxury modern two bed apartment, situated in The Brothers Wing building of a converted Benedictine Monastery. This apartment has 2 bedrooms with 2 king sized double beds and two sofa beds. Sleeping 4 people very comfortably it has the increased capacity to sleep up to 2 more adults and one child if you are prepared to sacrifice a little on space. Therefore, this apartment is the perfect choice for larger families who wish to share. This property has views out over the pretty Brothers Wing courtyard and the majestic stained glass windows of the Highland Club Lounge. The Old Armoury benefits greatly from direct access to the Brothers Wing courtyard and is in close proximity to parking and therefore recommended for low mobility guests. The courtyard opens out to the beautiful Monastery lawn with views over Loch Ness.

Built within the bastion walls the original fort the Brothers' Wing is a historically significant area of the Abbey, as this housed the original armoury defence of the fort. This apartment is situated on the ground floor and accessed by a flat communal terrace, therefore is particularly suited to guests with low mobility. The terrace offers immediate access to the front lawns of the Monastery which slope gently down to the shore line of Loch Ness. Tastefully decorated with historical prints of the original fort, coupled with modern interiors. The open plan living area also offers a double sofa bed for those on tight budgets, and the kitchen is fitted to a high standard. As a guest you will have access to all The Highland Club has to offer.

A welcome pack is provided. Our property manager will meet you on arrival and show you to your accommodation.

Facilities included are The BOATHOUSE RESTAURANT providing an idyllic setting on the shores of Loch Ness in which you can enjoy delicious, locally sourced food. The HIGHLAND CLUB SWIMMING POOL, SAUNA & STEAM ROOM. Within the stunning grounds OUTDOOR PICNIC TABLES AND BBQ'S are provided for guest use; TENNIS COURT, outdoor TABLE TENNIS, CROQUET LAWN, GIANT CHESS and CHILDRENS ADVENTURE PLAY AREA promise to keep everyone amused. The Monks refectory has been transformed into THE HIGHLAND CLUB LOUNGE with its oak panelled walls and stained glass windows, providing a sumptuous area to relax with friends or enjoy a game of SNOOKER (WIFI access available).

Local Activities

     
The Highland Club is situated within 2 minutes walk from the centre of Fort Augustus. Amenities include a number of local pubs/restaurants, local supermarket and a variety of gift shops. There is a 9 hole golf course, Tourist Information Centre and many local attractions and beautiful walks without the need to drive if you prefer.

The location allows traffic free access to Aonach Mor ski area during the winter months and year round access to the Highlands and all the local outdoor/adventure sports. The beautiful beaches of the West Coast of Scotland can be found about an hour away with easy access to Isle of Skye across the new bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh. To the East there are several beaches in the Dornoch/Black Isle area. Whisky Distilleries are in all directions, while for the children, the Hogwarts Express is a train that runs along the valley where Harry Potter was filmed. The nearby ruins of Urquhart Castle, Cawdor Castle and the world famous Eilean Donan Castle are all within an hour's drive. Not forgetting the Loch Ness Visitor's Centre and the monster itself....
